Care

Garment-dyed, so each shirt's color varies slightly. Wash cold to keep the length.

Colors on screen are approximate, and light inks can look slightly tinted on red or maroon shirts. A faint square around the print right out of the package is the printer's pretreatment and washes out in the first wash.

Observe a little closer.

Every jar holds a real poisonous plant: foxglove, nightshade, hemlock, mandrake, monkshood, yew, holly, mistletoe and ivy. The first version got some of the plants wrong, so it was redrawn with each one described the way a field guide would: white hemlock flowers on a purple-streaked stem, monkshood's hooded flowers, ivy with its black berries. The glass is left clear, so the shirt shows through every jar.

Print artwork: a two-shelf wooden apothecary cabinet full of corked glass jars, each holding one poisonous plant with a blank paper tag tied on with string. The top shelf holds foxglove, nightshade with black berries, hemlock, a forked mandrake root, blue monkshood and a sprig of yew, with a cream moth resting on the tallest lid and a stub of candle at the end. The bottom shelf holds holly, a mortar and pestle, a tied stack of seed packets, mistletoe and English ivy with its dark berries.
