Department of Quiet Places Crewneck

Not for sale yet. This design is a preview, so there's nothing to buy today.

A hiking crewneck sweatshirt from the Department of Quiet Places, an office I made up for the places worth leaving as you found them. An empty camp chair and a thermos sit in the tall grass, facing a row of desert buttes under a small moon.

Color: Sand

Classic-fit fleece crewneck sweatshirt, 50% cotton and 50% polyester, with a rib-knit collar. By the size chart it is about 2″ wider than the unisex tee in the same size (M: 22″ across against 20.25″) and about as long, so most people take their usual size.

Care

Colors on screen are approximate, and light inks can look slightly tinted on red or maroon shirts. A faint square around the print right out of the package is the printer's pretreatment and washes out in the first wash.

Observe a little closer.

Nobody is in the chair, which is the point. The first version had an old survey marker in the grass, and it read like a headstone. I tried a brass survey disc too, and it looked like a manhole cover. The chair is the one that stayed.
