Observe a little closer.

No two of the nine are the same kind: long-horned ones, round ones, one with a stag beetle's jaws. Each wing case has its own small pattern.

Print artwork: nine beetles of different kinds pinned in a three-by-three grid like a museum drawer, in teal, rust, violet, gold, olive and pink, each with its own folk pattern on its back and a blank label beneath. — Plate · The Specimen Drawer
