February Violet Birth Flower Framed Print

Not for sale yet. This design is a preview, so there's nothing to buy today.

A February birth flower framed art print: a small clump of purple violets, printed on the face of a cream seed packet from Bureau Seed Co., a seed house that never existed.

Three violets nod on thin stems over a clump of heart-shaped leaves. VIOLET is printed dark on a mustard band at the top, the one light band in the set, with a 5¢ seal beside the flowers and FEBRUARY · BIRTH FLOWER along the bottom. It is No. 02 of twelve, one for each month, all laid out the same way so they read as a set.

Observe a little closer.

Violets are small, so the flowers had to stay violets at shirt size, each nodding on its stem with a white throat and a yellow eye. Look at the heart-shaped leaves: their green sits a little off the ink line, as if printed in a pass that didn't line up.

Print artwork: a cream paper seed packet at a slight tilt, with a thin mustard border set with diamonds and dots, and BUREAU SEED CO. · No. 02 on its flap. VIOLET is printed dark on a mustard band at the top, beside a round mustard seal reading 5¢. On the packet: three purple violets with white and yellow centres, nodding on thin stems over a clump of heart-shaped green leaves. In a small round frame at the lower left, a seedling with two round leaves. The bottom band reads FEBRUARY · BIRTH FLOWER.
