July Water Lily Birth Flower Art Print

Not for sale yet. This design is a preview, so there's nothing to buy today.

A July birth flower art print: one open water lily, its bud and its pad, printed on the face of a cream seed packet from Bureau Seed Co., a seed house that never existed.

An open water lily, white edged in pink around a golden centre, rises beside a closed bud and a round pad on a ripple of water. WATER LILY runs across a navy band at the top, a 5¢ seal sits beside the bloom, and JULY · BIRTH FLOWER runs along the bottom. It is No. 07 of twelve, one for each month, all laid out the same way so they read as a set.

Observe a little closer.

We chose the water lily over larkspur because it was the prettier of the two, and nothing else in the set floats. So this is the only packet with water on it: a short ripple of blue under the pad. The closed bud beside the open bloom keeps it a specimen on a packet rather than a pond scene.

Print artwork: a cream paper seed packet at a slight tilt, with a thin navy border set with diamonds and dots, and BUREAU SEED CO. · No. 07 on its flap. WATER LILY is printed in cream on a navy band at the top, beside a round navy seal reading 5¢. On the packet: one open water lily with white petals edged in pink and a golden centre, a closed pink-tipped bud on its own stem, a round green lily pad, and a ripple of blue water beneath. In a small round frame at the lower left, a small round leaf on a stem rising from a lump of mud under a line of water. The bottom band reads JULY · BIRTH FLOWER.
